Volunteer with Us: Support Your Local Community
Join our dedicated team of over 70 volunteers and help us ensure no one in Headley is left without support.
Becoming a volunteer with Headley Voluntary Care is simple, flexible, and deeply fulfilling. Whether you have a few hours a week or just a few hours a month, your contribution makes a world of difference to our neighbours.
1. Volunteer Drivers (High Priority)
We are in constant need of friendly drivers to help patients reach their medical appointments.
Total Flexibility: You will receive a call asking if you can help on a specific day. If you are available, great! If not, simply say no.
Manageable Commitment: We do not expect any driver to do more than two trips per week.
Fully Reimbursed: Drivers are reimbursed at 45p per mile, plus any parking charges incurred.
Peace of Mind: Most insurers cover voluntary work at no extra cost; we will reimburse you if an exception occurs.

2. Transport Coordinators
The "engine room" of our service. Coordinators match our patients with suitable drivers.
The Role: You will receive calls from residents needing a lift, find an available driver from our list, and confirm the details.
Time Commitment: Just one week every three months or so.
Fulfilling Work: It is an easy task that provides vital support to the community and is met with immense gratitude.

3. Coffee Morning Helpers
Help us run our popular social events and combat loneliness in Headley.
The Role: Assist with serving refreshments and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The Rota: Your name would be added to a rota roughly once every six weeks.
